Terms and Conditions
Last updated 14 October 2026. Version 2026-10-draft.
Draft: placeholder text pending legal review. It is not final and should not be relied on as legal advice.
These terms explain the rules for using IntriFund as a donor, a beneficiary, a clinic or hospital, or a manager. Please read them. By creating an account, or by using the platform, you agree to them.
1. About the service
IntriFund (“IntriFund”, “we”, “us”) runs an online platform that raises donations for charity healthcare programs, decides which people are covered by those programs, and pays accredited clinics and hospitals for the care they give. The platform includes portals for donors, beneficiaries (members), service providers (clinics and hospitals) and managers, and an interface for electronic medical record systems.
IntriFund acts in a way that is similar to an insurer for its own programs, but it is a charity platform. It is not a licensed medical scheme, bank or investment product, and nothing on the platform is medical, legal, tax or financial advice. Please read these terms with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice. Together they form the agreement between you and us.
Where a screen or guide in the documentation explains how the platform works, the documentation is a guide only. If it differs from these terms, these terms apply.
2. Who may register
To create an account you must:
- be at least 18 years old, or be registering through a parent or legal guardian for a child, in which case the adult accepts these terms for the child;
- have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement;
- give us true, complete and current information; and
- use only one account for each role, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Clinics and hospitals must also be lawfully registered and licensed to practise in the country where they treat patients, and must be accredited by IntriFund before they can treat members under a program. We may refuse, suspend or close any account if we believe the rules have been broken or the account puts others at risk.
3. Your account and security
You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password, one-time codes, recovery codes, authenticator app and wallet private. Do not share them, and do not let anyone else sign in as you. IntriFund staff will never ask you for them.
Please turn on the authenticator app if you are a clinic, hospital or manager. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account, or if you lose a device or wallet that can sign in. We are not responsible for losses caused by a password, code or wallet that you did not keep safe.
We may lock an account for a short time after repeated wrong attempts, and we may ask you to prove who you are before we restore it.
4. Donations
A donation is a gift to a program. You choose the program when you give. You may pay by card, by bank transfer or in crypto, as offered at checkout. Card payments are handled by Stripe and are subject to its terms. A bank transfer counts only after a manager confirms that the money has arrived. A crypto donation counts after the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.
Donations are not refundable, except as the platform allows. If the platform shows a refund option for your gift, you may ask for your unused balance to be returned within the refund period displayed on the Refunds page. Money that has already been set aside for, or paid towards, a patient’s care cannot be refunded. We may refuse or reverse a donation that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, unlawful or made in error, and we may deduct costs of the payment method that we cannot recover.
IntriFund decides how donated funds are applied inside the program you chose, following the program’s rules. A donation does not give you ownership of, or control over, particular funds, patients or clinics. A platform fee, shown for each program, may be taken when clinics are paid. We do not promise that a gift will fund any particular person. Whether a gift qualifies for a tax deduction depends on the laws of your country and on our registration. Please ask your own adviser.
5. Beneficiary applications
If you apply to become a member, you must answer every question honestly and completely, and you must upload only documents that are genuine and that belong to you. By signing the declaration you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
We may check your information against your documents and, with your consent, with other sources. If we find that an application contained false or misleading information, we may reject it, withdraw any cover, and report the matter to the authorities where the law allows or requires. You must tell us promptly if your details change in a way that affects your application or cover.
Being verified makes you a member and gives you a Member ID. It does not by itself give you cover. Cover is given per program, after a separate application that a manager decides. Applying is free. Never pay anyone for an application or for approval.
6. How coverage and claims work
Cover is for a program, between a start date and an end date, for the services listed by that program, up to the coverage percent and other limits shown on your Member Card. Cover may be refused, limited, suspended or cancelled if you are not eligible, if information was false, if the program ends, or if funds are not available.
Before treating a member, an accredited clinic or hospital must ask us whether the member is eligible. A positive answer is valid for 24 hours and is recorded under a check reference. A request for payment must quote that reference. A positive answer is not a guarantee of payment: payment depends on the request being reviewed and approved by a manager and on the treatment being given as stated.
Clinics and hospitals agree to give care that is medically appropriate and truthfully described, to charge only for care that was given, to keep accurate records, and to follow the laws and professional rules that apply to them. IntriFund is not a healthcare provider and is not responsible for the quality of care that a clinic gives. Any dispute about the care itself is between the patient and the clinic.
IntriFund may reverse or recover a payment that was made because of a mistake, a false claim or a breach of these terms.
7. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone to:
- give false information, or pretend to be another person or organisation;
- file a claim for care that was not given, or for a person who was not checked;
- try to get into an account, a portal or data that is not yours;
- search for members or probe the interface in order to learn who is registered;
- interfere with the platform, overload it, or bypass limits such as rate limits;
- copy, scrape or resell data from the platform, other than your own;
- use the platform to launder money, finance crime or avoid sanctions; or
- upload anything that is unlawful, harmful, or that you have no right to share.
We may remove content, suspend or close accounts, and report unlawful activity if these rules are broken.
8. Intellectual property
The IntriFund name, logo, design, software and documentation belong to IntriFund or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the platform for its intended purpose while your account is open. You must not copy, change, reverse engineer or make a competing service from it, except where the law allows.
You keep ownership of the information and files you give us. You give us a licence to store, process and display them as needed to run the platform, to review applications and claims, to meet legal duties and to keep our records.
9. Our responsibility, and its limits
We work to keep the platform available and accurate, but it is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, that every donation will be applied as you hope, or that a particular person or clinic will be covered or paid. Payment networks, banks, blockchains and other outside services are not under our control.
To the fullest extent the law allows, IntriFund is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or opportunity, loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or the quality of medical care given by clinics. Our total liability for any claim connected with the platform is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or a small fixed amount if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or rights you have under consumer protection laws.
You agree to compensate us for loss that we suffer because you broke these terms or the law, or because of a false claim you made.
10. Ending your account
You may stop using the platform and ask us to close your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if the law requires, if we suspect fraud, or if we close a program or the platform. When an account is closed, money that is owed to you will be dealt with under the platform’s rules, and some information must be kept for the periods described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example on liability, intellectual property and governing law) continue after closure.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time. We will show the new date and version at the top of this page, and where a change is important we will tell you before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept it again. If you keep using the platform after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the platform and close your account.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa and, for activities carried out in Zambia, the laws of the Republic of Zambia. [Placeholder: the governing law, courts and any arbitration clause are to be confirmed by counsel.]
If you have a complaint, please first contact support so that we can try to settle it informally. If it cannot be settled, the courts of the country named above will have the power to hear it, subject to any rights you have that cannot be excluded by agreement.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@intrifund.com (a placeholder address while the support desk is being set up). More help is in the FAQ and support page.
